On the recently slashdotted blog, Oh My God It Burns!. Three self-proclaimed slackers wonder whether Brita filters can be used to make nasty vodka drinkable. Their conclusion: definitely.

A decision was made that using pvc pipe,and lining up 3 brita filters cartridges inside through which the vodka would flow serially, you could reach the optimum filtration in the shortest amount of time.

NIKE, world's best design patron?

NIKE SKATEBOARDING is simply a bitchin site. Nice transitions. Check out the photo-puppets of the individual skaters (roll over to animate).

...is it just me, or is pink the new lime green in web design? I'd read that cyan was the It color this fall, but I'm seeing a lot more pink.

The idea came last year while viewing another Web site on which cameras posted in the wild are used to snap photos of animals.

Iraqi's hit house makeover show

A home makeover-style TV programme in Iraq that offers needy families the opportunity to have their war-damaged homes re-built from scratch has become a massive hit.

Of course, this don't fly with the people who have more to do than provide shelter to two or three families.

But producer Riyadh Salman insisted that the programme was attempting to highlight the problems Iraqi people faced when their homes were destroyed, and were pressing for more assistance from others.

"We start from scratch, and finish by putting furniture in these houses," he said.

"We want to motivate government institutions and human rights organisations to take their share in the reconstructions.

"But in spite of all the calls we've made to them, we haven't had any response."
