I just spent an hour looking at Gizmodo and two of the latest Gawker sites,
Jalopnik (for car people) and
Screenhead ("an online review of, um, funny shit. Gross Photoshop humor, idiotic Flash animations, laughable Japanese commercial"). Maybe not all of you will want to peruse Jalopnik, but Screenhead's a worthy diversion. They're probably just now finding their feet--some links are already a couple years' old and others are just unfunny--but there are a few gooduns in there. Actually, I can't remember which of the following links came from which Gawker Media Empire sites, but that don't matter since they all draw from the same pool of memes:
The Gameboy Orchestra Project by
8bitpeoples. At first annoying, then hypnotic.
PES, amusing videos from the maker of Roof Sex (two armchairs going at it while the owner's away).
The Worm Bridge.
BRICK, how LEGO is made. Lovely axon-art. Did you know the factory uses patrolling robots to move bricks around? There's no mention of people in the process... interesting.
nekokiki, another game by ece4co featuring kitten abuse. Hold down the mouse button to change the throwing distance of your snowball, and try to douse the fuse before neko go boom.
...and my favorite of the day:
The Infinite Cat Project, which I assume is very old already since they have 500+ images. It goes like this: a person takes a picture of a cat looking at a picture, sends that picture to someone else to have that person's cat look at it (repeat)...
